Taylor's hand gun line are replicas copying the original designs, but built with today's high quality standards in mind. The Schofield model was designed to be operated with one hand while on horseback making it ideal for soldiers in the U.S. Cavalry. The break-open pistol's barrel latch opens by pulling it back and has a rear sight notch incorporated into it. This 38SP model has a 7" barrel, blued metal finish, walnut grip, and a fixed blade front sight.
