Description
SIG SAUER's advanced suppressor design, the SURG556, was tested under the harshest, most demanding conditions, and was proven to exceed contract specifications for accuracy, durability, reliability, signature reduction, thermal limits and toxicity to ensure soldier safety. The SURG556 is an Inconel Steel core high flow suppressor. The unique Forward-Flux multi-flow path was the genesis of SIG SAUER's Next Generation line of suppressors. The internal geometry of the Forward-Flux technology reduces gas blowback, keeping the shooter's face out of irritating gases and minimizing fouling in the firearm. The combination of reduced gases and fouling allows the user to maintain a clear site picture enabling longer engagement on target. The Forward-Flux multi-path flow decreases erosion and keeps internal parts of the firearm cleaner, increasing the longevity of the firearm and reducing overall maintenance. The direct thread suppressor is shielded by a detachable titanium hexagonal heat shield lowering the system's thermal signature and increasing maneuverability. The shield was specifically designed to reduce the likelihood contact of burns when in dynamic situations and accommodate rapid transport in mission critical scenarios.
