Transfers Coming In
Firearms that are purchased out of state or online must be transferred through a Federal Firearms Licensed Dealer (FFL).
Key Notes:
We accept transfers from most FFL dealers, however, please contact us before buying to verify that we accept from the dealer in which you are purchasing. It is your responsbility to verify that the firearm being transferred is currently in compliance with Illinois state law. We are not responsible for damages that may occur in transit. Once the firearm has arrived at our store, please allow 24 hours to process the transfer in accordance with ATF requirements. Due to excessive call volume, we will reach out to you once your item has been processed. Pelchers reserves the right to charge a fee to process this transaction.
What We Need:
We require that all transfer firearms are received with a copy of the sellers' Federal Firearms License, an invoice showing the total amount paid, and if taxes were paid to the seller. Firearms that are received without this information will be held until we have all documents for our records.

Transfers Going Out
Firearms that are purchased at Pelchers by out of state residents that cannot take delivery in store must be transferred to a Federal Firearms Licensed Dealer (FFL) in their state of residence. Refer to the information below to understand outgoing transfers.
All that is required for us to ship your order is a valid copy of the receiving FFL and the item to be paid in full. The buyer is responsible for paying all shipping and insurance charges on their order. A tracking number will be sent via email once the item has shipped.

Person to Person Transfers
A person to person transfer is when two individuals take part in a private party sale of a firearm. The transferee or buyer of the firearm must be an Illinois resident for us to handle this transaction. Below is a list of what we need from the seller and buyer to complete this transaction.
Seller:
- Valid state identification or drivers license
- Illinois residents must provide a FOID card
- The items being transferred from you to the buyer
Buyer:
- Valid Illinois FOID card and/or drivers license or state identification
The person to person transfer process is identical to a traditional firearm sale, please refer to the purchasing a firearm page for additional information. Pelchers reserves the right to charge a fee for processing this transaction.
